Dr Esiashvili and Dr Klass visited TSMU as part of their global health teaching tour. Prior to arrival to Tbilisi, they went to Cairo for 3 day workshop at a local pediatric oncology hospital.The lecture topics and format were arranged based on Emory and TSMU faculty communications prior to the visit.

In 2015, Natia Esiashvili, MD, was named Chief Quality Officer in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. A board certified radiation oncologist, she specializes in the treatment of complex pediatric cancers and hematological malignancies in adults. In addition, Dr. Esiashvili is involved in using radiotherapy as a component of the bone marrow transplantation program. She is co-leader of the Young Adult Cancer Survivorship Program at Winship. Dr. Esiashvili specializes in the treatment of complex pediatric cancers and hematological malignancies in adults.She is a clinical member of the Cancer Prevention and Control research program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Dr. Esiashvili is a member of executive committee of Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society and led programs for low- and middle-income centuries for past 6 years. Additionally, she holds memberships with the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Radiology, Children's Oncology Group, and Pediatric Radiation Oncology Society, among others.

Klass, MD, PhD (Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Emory School of Medicine): `I think, students gained a deeper understanding of the fields of anesthesiology and oncology as a potential choice of their future carriers. Dr Esiashvili and I are interested to continue engagement with TSMU both in Tbilisi and Atlanta'.
Dr. Markus G. Klass' clinical expertise includes all areas of clinical anesthesia provided at Emory including the intraoperative use of TEE in patients undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac surgery. His research interests include treatment options for patients with sickle cell disease. Dr. Klass participated in national effort for education on anesthesia safety.
