On September 27 American MD Program administration organized an orientation meeting with the first semester students.
During the orientation meeting the freshmen received an overview of the structure of the American MD Program as well as specific details regarding the main components and regulations of academic learning processes, exchange programs, extracurricular activities and etc.
After the orientation meeting, the program administrative team introduced the first-semesters to the small group coordinators. Each student enrolled in the US MD Program have a Small Group Advisor. Each small group advisor is a TSMU faculty member or invited instructor who has an MD degree. They are involved in the process of teaching`Becoming a Doctor`course. The small group advisor will mentor each student belonging to a small group - usually 10-12 students. One of the purposes of having small group advisors is to provide individualized academic guidance to each student and to monitor their academic performance. Another purpose of having small group advisors is to guide the students’ professional development in Becoming a Doctor course. Having a small group advisor system is a privilege for American MD Program students with the goal of helping them to succeed.
After the first meeting students were divided into groups. A new academic year for the 1st semester USMD Program students starts on October 2nd, 2023.
