On October 19 White Coat Ceremony of the American MD Program Class of 2028 held at Tbilisi State Medical University.
Welcoming events for the incoming class are always filled with joy and celebration. Traditional events, marking students' transition from high school to medical society is hilighted with the White Coat Ceremony (WCC).
During the ceremony, the Rector of the Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Zurab Vadatchkoria, Director of Educational Programs of Emory School of Medicine, Professor Archil Undilashvili, LTC Brian Walker - US Army Medical Research office in Georgia, Director of American MD Program Program, Professor Eka Ekaladze, Deputy Director, Professor Nino Tevzadze, Professor Rima Beriashvili and a 5th year US MD Program student Nika Vashakidze coated the students with white coats as a symbol of welcome to the medical life.
When the white coats are placed on students' shoulders, they are committing to prioritize compassionate, collaborative, and scientifically excellent care from the very first day of their journey.
Specially for this great event and the students of the Class of 2028, American MD Program students - Janadi Karawita, and Huzaif Bin Basheer on the vocals, performed some songs with the instrumental accompaniment by Daine Tom Thomas (on the piano) and Dave Biji (on the electronic guitar).
