Konstantine Miminoshvili, the student of American MD (US MD) Program of Tbilisi Sate Medical University, was on the internship course at Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS). During 3 months, he has been working as a Translational Research Group Member, under the direct subordination and supervision of Research Associate Say Li Kong. During this period, Konstantine Miminoshvili studied wet-lab techniques of molecular biology and data analytics (dry-lab); participated in creation of a diagnostic panel needed for immunotherapy in patients with hepatitis B-infected liver cancer; studied and independently conducted quantitative PCR and pyrosequencing experiments.
The tenth semester student of American MD (US MD) Program has received a pool of experience in ISO accredited molecular laboratory. Konstantine was actively involved in weekly seminars. During his stay in Singapore, he made a report on patotherapy and also became a co-author of "Developing Companion Diagnostic Assay to Determine the Effectiveness of Adoptive T Cell Therapy for Hepatitis B Liver Cancer Patients". The paper was presented as a poster at the Seventh International Molecular Diagnostics Europe Conference held on May 6-9 in Lisbon.
Konstantine Miminoshvili has got a great experience in working with a team of researchers in Singapore. The TSMU’s American MD (USMD) Program Student is already in Georgia and plans to share his experiences with peers.
Special Thanks to Say Li Kong and Alexandre Lezhava.
