The visit was held in the frame of the memorandum of understanding with Tbilisi State Medical University and Emory University. Mentioned document let Emory students take clinical rotations not only at Emory University but at other partner institutions. In this case, Emory side decided to complete clinical rotation at American MD program at Tbilisi State Medical University. During two weeks period, Niharika Malepally participated in American MD program learning process and did her clinical rotation with Tbilisi State Medical University students at the First University Clinic and High Technology Medical Centre. Rika Malepally (Student, Emory University School of Medicine): “Before I became a student, I already knew that there was very strong collaboration between Emory University and Tbilisi State Medical University. I was planning my visit to Georgia during very long period of time and I want to say thanks to Emory University, for the possibility they’ve given me. I was involved in learning processes at The First University Clinic and High Technology Medical Centre; I had a chance to meet with US MD Program students from all classes and share our own study experiences. I want to say thanks to heads of Emory University School of Medicine and Tbilisi State Medical University, American MD Program directors, as well as Tbilisi State University professors, - Kakhaber Chelidze and Irma Chokhonelidze, for their heartwarming hosting. I think, that this study visit gave me very interesting experiences. I also want to mention that American MD Program in Georgia, has strong faculty and very talented students. I’m sure, they are on heir way to big success. I wish them to fully complete their big goals!”
We can say, that this study visit in Georgia was very fortunate for Rika Malepally : a few days later she became a resident of Baylor Medical University.
